What to do in Edinburgh?

What are the must do things in a 3 day weekend in Edinburgh?

  • I am planning a 3 day weekend tour to Edinburgh and wanted to know what are the must do things to do? As of now, I have come up with the following list: Day 0:(Friday) We arrive on Friday night by 11pm. Not sure if there are any things we can do. Day 1:(Saturday) Edinburgh Castle, Arthurs Seat hike and walk around the city Day 2:(Sunday) Day tour to Highlands from Edinburgh. Any recommended tours??? Day 3:(Monday) May be a distillery tour? Return in the evening I dont have a car and will be arriving Edinburgh in train from london. The above list is not confirmed and if there are any recommended suggestions, I could definitely include them.

  • Answer:

Well, Scotland is a wonderful place. The Edinburgh Castle and the Arthur's seat will keep you busy for a day. For that evening you might wanna go enjoy a couple of drinks. The pubs are excellent. (Some of them have live music, if you are interested). Highlands tour is a must. There are many tour packages - ranging from 1 to 3 days. Make sure you visit Isle of Skye. Check this - http://www.highlandtours.com/ - might be of some help. There are other smaller castles in and around Sterling (William Wallace'  - yeah 'The Mighty Heart' movie) if you are into history and if you couldn't make it to the highlands. (Not 'highly' recommended) P.S: Please do check for the weather conditions and the best time is summer. Its too cold any other time of the year.
