High heart rate means rate above 100/ minute or more. This can either be counted by the radial pulse or by putting stethoscope over the heart. There are many causes responsible for this condition like nervousness, anxiety, sinus tachycardia, malfunctioning of the cardiac valve, thyroid disorder, kidney diseases etc. The patient may have symptoms like awareness in cardiac region, chest pain, breathlessness or may remain asymptomatic. There are medicines to control the situation but should be taken under supervision of a qualified doctor.
