Why do most of the famous and successful personalities from West Bengal belong to the upper caste?

• The question details are related the Indian state of West Bengal not Bangladesh. I am comparing it with south indian states.  Most actors in bengali film industry belong to the upper caste. All the politicians I hear belong to upper caste(may be all chief ministers too). Though the chief ministers call themselves communist still they were from forward caste. The state cabinet is of forward/upper caste people. My college friends who came to study in BMSCE, Bangalore from bengal(also north india) belong to upper caste. All the software engineers from bengal i know are from upper caste(its true in case of north indians also, each and every single guy). Most, may be all bengalis working in bollywood are also upper caste people. Same case with bengali journalists in national media. Actually most people i hear from bengal belong to these communities. Why is it like this? In south india you can find that actors in film industry belong to every single caste and section. South indians working in IT industry represent all the sections of society. Journalists in southern news papers belong to all sections. Each section of society has given great politicians with great appeal.

  The fact being that, bengalis value education more than anything else. You wont contradict the above statement cause its obvious. A well educated, knowledgeable person is what a great personality really is. Opinions may differ here. While Bengalis value education, the upper caste makes it their primary aim. I have been around Bengalis a lot. They have more peace of mind.
