What is internship jobs?

Is it easier to get a job or an internship?  And should I pursue internships or jobs or both?

  • After being rejected for a job at the millionth time, I decided to put my job search on hold.  I'm concerned about not being able to find a job after graduation and being forced to live with my parents for years afterwards.  I've thought about pursuing internships because that is supposedly the best way to get a job after graduation; also, I figured that an internship would be easier to get because they don't have to pay me or they can pay me less than minimum wage, and therefore, I am less of a financial risk to them.  But I was told that it's harder to get an internship than a job because of the fact that people do them for less or no money; people might figure that if they are paid less or no money, then would not work as hard, and the employers want to prevent that from happening.

  • Answer:

It's generally easier to get an internship than a full-time position. In some countries, internships are only for current students, i.e. it's illegal to hire people who already graduated. So, it depends on the law of the country you're aiming to work at. In your case, I would say to try internships if that's an option.

You can start as an intern and your attitude towards your work will give you a permanent position. In some countries you can visit the unemployment office and they can connect you with companies. Find companies here and also reach out to them to see what they can offer. http://www.intern.ly
