When is the last and final match of ipl 2009?

Was IPL 7 match 56 between the Rajasthan Royals and the Mumbai Indians fixed?

  • I  mean even Mumbai Players were in form, they could never did that  without help the Rajasthan Royals players did. For instance Watson  played like he was playing for Mumbai. And Mumbai Indians is a team  with maximum big names associated so if don't qualify how investors will  show interest in putting money in IPL's next season. And after that I am very sure that every coming match will go to last ball and there is good chance of Mumbai Playing final against Punjab. What are the chances that a match goes to last ball when it depends on net run rate? And if you look at the commerce as this IPL being low in viewership because of election there was something needed to improve TRP. http://www.merinews.com/article/mumbai-indians-defeats-rajasthan-royals-was-the-match-fixed-as-predicted/15897987.shtml

  • Answer:

No, it wasn't fixed. To all the people commenting here about Faulkner bowling two full tosses in the final over - how easy do you think it is for a batsman who has just come to the crease to hit a six off the first ball that he faces in such a high pressure situation? I am sure that you would agree with me if I say that full tosses are, any day, better than length balls during slog overs. Further, there was a lot of dew which made it hard for the bowlers to grip the ball. This happens in a lot of night matches, doesn't it? To OP: I  mean even Mumbai Players were in form, they could never did that  without help the Rajasthan Royals players did. How did the Rajasthan Royals' players help? Did the batsmen score only 120 runs so that MI can easily chase down the target in 14.3 overs? No. They scored 189. How easy do you think it is to chase down 190 runs in 87 balls? If the match were indeed fixed, don't you think RR would have set a 'safe' score which MI could have easily chased down? For instance Watson  played like he was playing for Mumbai. How did you infer that Watson was playing for Mumbai? Was his every alternate delivery a wide or a no-ball? Was he misfielding everything that came to him? Yes, he started off very slow in his innings. But you need to keep in mind that his partner, Sanju Samson, was striking the ball very well at the start. It wasn't Watson's day, so he was trying to play a second-fiddle to Samson. What's wrong with that? Didn't you see Shikhar Dhawan do that for David Warner the other day? Even when Watson got out, RR had a run-rate of over run a ball. And after that I am very sure that every coming match will go to last ball and there is good chance of Mumbai Playing final against Punjab. The four teams that have qualified to the playoffs (KXIP, KKR, CSK and MI) are very strong and competitive teams. There is a high chance that the matches will indeed go down to the last delivery. All four are high-caliber teams and so, there is a chance that Mumbai will be playing their final against Punjab. It has got nothing to do with fixing. There are a lot of investigations going on regarding spot-fixing in IPL. Few players of RR were found guilty of it in 2013. I don't think any Indian RR player will take so much risk, let alone the international players including Watson. Regarding this Match 56th, it was a good wicket to bat on, and the Mumbai batsmen played really well. By the way, do you think that yesterday's http://www.goal.com/en-gb/match/134756/real-madrid-vs-atl%C3%A9tico-de-madrid/play-by-playmatch was also fixed? Come on! Who would have thought the final score would be 4-1 in Real Madrid's favor when Atletico was leading 1-0 at the 90th minute? Even if Real Madrid players played really well, they could have never done it without the help that Atletico players provided. The match was definitely fixed for increasing the TRP. Notice how silly this argument sounds?

We shouldn't all the time doubt the credibility of the people. I don't think match was fixed. It was only odd situations

If you are so dumb to believe Dravid & Sachin agreed to fix the match...then yes it was fixed..and you are an idiot..

The question is not whether the match was fixed. It's about belief in cricket. "Are you a believer in cricket?" If you are. You might not be asking this question!

WHY I FEEL THAT YESTERDAY'S MATCH WAS FIXED. > while having toss.... no one called for the toss... yet Ravi Shastri had a close look at the coin and then without even telling which face it is, he said to Rohit "you got what you wanted" .... Wow... have you really seen something like that. > one of the best bowlers of RR's armour...'tambe' called in so late.... > faulkner's doubty length... u tell he was in pressure...well he was never before > and above all, it was already told that the match would end in 14.2 (decisively) but yet when MI failed to cross that mark in stipulated time, recalculations were done and then 1 extra ball was given to them... (lo bhai jeeto....hum to jitake hi chodenge tumhe)... if still u ppl feel that it wasn't fixed, then u r believers but "BLIND BELIEVERS"

How does it matter ? Ask yourself two questions. Why did I start watching this match ? Didn't I enjoy those three hours ? IPL is for entertainment and I am pretty sure everyone had a great time watching this epic match.

If you think those emotions were fixed then better stop watching cricket.

Cant you just enjoy the game? Please dont kill the spirit of the game by bringing up thoughts like these! Coming to your question: I highly doubt the match was fixed. If RR fixed it, still Mumbai needed to hit those 190 runs in 14.3 overs, which even if the bowling was purposely wayward, would have been a difficult task.

Cmon do you really think it was fixed, given the currect fixing case going on at the apex court of India? Since, Yusuf was dropped twice yesterday, was that match(KKR vs SRH) fixed too? No, I do not think so. I suppose everyone wants to win. You could see MI attack right from ball one and so where the RR players. If it had to be really fixed, why do you think would RR even go till 190. To make it a blockbuster, C'mon. So, yes it was definitely not fixed.
