For a good opening at a good company there are hundreds of applications through job portals such as Naukri.com or iimjobs.com. How does a recruiter find one right resume from the large pool of applicants?

I have seen that over 2000 applicants apply for good job posted on a job portal. Does recruiter go through all the resumes? How does a recruiter select candidates in such cases?

Answer:
TL;DR FILTERS ... FILTERS ... FILTERS.... Time to face the reality Though one might say that Marks or GPA or CGPA or Percentile does not matter, Well in reality people are still looking at it when comes to shortlisting candidates. Let alone the off campus placements like the websites mentioned above, even in the campus hiring. Certain companies short list you based on your CGPA. That's how it works, deal with it! One the websites you have mentioned is naukri .com which is one of the leading websites for Job recruitment. So obviously there will be some sort of filters for the Recruiters Now you may ask me, what the hell do you mean by a filter. When you shop onhttp://flipkart.com, you have small scales on the left hand side to choose the price range, brand name, discount wise, based on reviews etc basically which let's you to customize the features for the thing you want to have There will be some sort of similar Filters for the reviewers. Say for example 2000 candidates have applied for the same Job. Now suppose an ideal candidate for the Job would the person who has shills in Java,DBMS and Logic The recruiter would click Java, Boom! The number reduces to 1000, Now the recruiter clicks DBMS.. Magically the number reduces to 500, Now he clicks Logic, the number further reduces to 50. So he has to basically look into 50 Resumes now? There there! It's life!

I think I have a answer. Take it if it is worth taking. During my placement training my trainer said that recruiters just take a glance of your resume. One resume will take maximum of 60 seconds or less. They will look at your objectives you have written on your resume.( It must be crisp and demanding ) Then the Experience that you gained in the past. Projects you have done which is relevant to the demanded posting. your % marks finally ( It must be real, you cannot fool the one checking your resume
