Hi there, I would recommend an events calendar that I personally use which is http://commingly.com. Commingly is an embeddable events calendar where you can add events and embed in various event templates - such as upcoming events, most popular, newest added, or a monthly view design. Commingly calendars are also responsive meaning that calendars will adjust according to the device where the calendars are viewed, whether tablets or smartphones. You can also add unlimited events, customize the calendar's colors to match your website, add photos from your events, and events are automatically integrated with social media buttons. Give it a try, it's free. Here is a demo in case you are interested: http://demo.commingly.com

If you use WordPress to build your site, try the All-In-One Event Calendar plugin by http://Time.ly. It supports multiple views (month, week, agenda, etc.) and can sync with .ics event feeds (including Google Calendar).

Just found http://upto.com/. I'm trying the free version now for my site http://madeinjlm.org/events-. Impressions so far: Not bad. Visual design could be prettier - fonts, colors etc. "Add to google calendar" button is missing. They added an "add your email here to subscribe" bar instead to take emails, really not sure about this. Can't find where they keep the subscribers list. If they're holding my subscriber list hostage - that's a dealbreaker.

If you are looking for a low-cost, self-hosted system to handle shared calendar, booking resources (such as rooms, equipment, electronics), etc, you might want to try Zhen Calendar, which can be installed for your use on any shared host or server with PHP/MySQL:http://zhen81.com/product/calendar/ (Disclaimer: I work for Telerim, the company that makes the HR software referenced here.) Zhen Calendar has the following features: * Self-hosted: so you can run on your own servers * PHP/MySQL based: runs on most shared hosts or virtual servers * One-time cost, not recurring: pay one-time for the download * Easy to use UI: based on Bootstrap This is a really low-price, one-time-cost self-hosted calendar system that you can run on your own shared hosting service. Give it a whirl and let us know if you like it!

This is a great question, especially for people (like me) living in China and don't want to rely on Google products. I've been using http://www.instantcal.com. Tockify is nice from a UI perspective, but my ideal solution is easily updated from a user's smartphone. Tockify requires using the phone's browser rather than the calendar app to add events. This feels cumbersome compared to InstantCal. Unfortunately, developers aren't active on InstantCal anymore so I'm also looking for other solutions.

I work on the Tockify calendar https://tockify.com, which is designed to be  easy to use, super-customizable and to blend into websites rather than look widgetty. It also works very well standalone and on phones and tablets.

Hi there,My names Alex, founder of http://eventcalendarapp.com. I think we’re building exactly what you are looking for.EventCalendarApp integrates directly with your Apple, Google, or Outlook calendar. There’s no admin interface to deal with (since it populates directly from your calendar), and you can easily style it with your own css to look like your site.In case you are interested, there is a demo on the homepage of the site or feel free to contact me directly. Thanks a lot,Alex
