Which is the best laptop for a CSE student?

Will a laptop be required for F.Y. at COEP?

  • If yes, then please justify as I will need convince my parent too: P BTW i am a CSE student, not that it matters in FY. And, I already have a laptop. Whether to get it or not is the question. I dont have to buy it specially for college.

    If you already have it, you may bring it to the hostel as it will make it convenient for your programming assignments. Just make sure you don't start wasting a lot of time playing CS or Dota.

Thanks for the A2A . I'm not from coep but as far as I know, you do not require a laptop for programming in the first year since it's done in the college lab. You may need your laptop to prepare PowerPoint presentations for assignments though. But by the time you reach third sem, using a laptop for daily work does come in handy,that too assuming you have CE or IT as your branch.

In the first year, only FCP needs a bit of coding which can be done in the labs too. Buy a good one in your Sem III!

Laptop is a wonderfull tool for learning not only for the computer student but for the other branches. If you really feel that  you can use it like tool rather than play or movie box so keep it with you from the vary first day of the college but you feel you would not be able to use like tool than keep it with you from second year. NPTEL lacture, MIT lacture, playing with open software and networking tool, to build programming logic, YouTube, Google and much more for are there on the internet to educate himself.    It totally depend upon you how you want to use it.
