Why is Youtube able to host "10 hours of ___" videos, but not seamlessly looping videos?

One would think that "10 hours of ___" videos are not actually made of 10 hours' worth of data, but rather a seamlessly looping 5-minute long piece. Why is this feature available only in 10-hour chunks, instead of as a seamlessly looping 5-minute long video whose GUI playbar can reset each time?

Answer:
I'd say Youtube doesn't *WANT* anyone to repeat any videos. There are (quite a few) third party sites, plus VLC Media Player (yes, it can play youtube videos and was once the only way to play some songs to 1.5x speed, before the relatively recent addition of "speedometer", as I like to call that feature) which can all loop videos (besides the program I can also use http://youtuberepeat.com :) )
