Which country will be best for a PhD?

What should one do after an M.Tech in VLSI, a PhD or an MBA? If a PhD is a good option then should one do it from India or any other country?

  • If another country then which country?

  • Answer:

Hi There, if you are looking for a job after your masters please go for a job hunt as career in vlsi takes longer time to build. If you are not-so-techinical person, opt for an MBA in some good universities either or next to IIMs here in India which would require you to have a work experience of minimum 3 years to appreciate the managerial stuffs. If you are kind of geeky & want to find the see the bigger picture , go for a PHD in IITs. You can also opt for a MS from foreign univ. since PHD needs more effort & time.

M.Tech in VLSI or PHD in VLSI have excellent options. you will be placed in research companies ( In tel, texas, phillips, TSMC, ASUS etc etc..) if have sound knowledge in the front end or back process of VLSI. There are no much skilled labourers in VLSI field, so oppurtunities are plenty if you develop the skill in VLSI. PHD in foreign would be the best option. because foreign degress have much higher weightage than indian ones if your moving for a job or teaching field after PHD.
