How to promote a play in Los Angeles?

How do we most effectively promote our online marijuana collective & delivery service in Los Angeles Westside?

  • Our collective services the Westside of Los Angeles.  We our a premium service & offer unique GPS tracking, but have lots of competition.  We are on WeedMaps & Leafly, but want to advertise more in high value outlets.  We don't have a crazy amount of marketing money, but need to get the word out.

Unless you're very, very, very (that's 3 'verys') GOOD at Search Engine Optimization, and can get on the First Page of Google results, I'd recommend, ahem, a GRASSroots campaign.  Get it?  I made a funny. Seriously, get a whole shit pot full of post cards printed up. Avoid the garish type faces and graphics but create an image of relief. A CURE always outsells a preventive.  Sell the CURE.  Make DAMN sure there's a coupon on the card that offers something FREE and a 30 day discount (make the discount good for the first 3 purchases so you get people in the habit of coming back to your store, have a punch made that makes little MJ leaf holes to keep track.  After 3 holes are punched, give 'em a free glass pipe. What do you have that's EXCLUSIVE? Let's say you offer Shatter for $6 a gram, sell it AT cost with any other purchase, that's called a loss-leader and is extra incentive to come in to the store and buy something. Get your cards out to the physician's offices that are prescribing cannabis, their customers are YOUR customers. Take about 5 cards each and pin them up on the bulletin boards of pain clinics. There are a couple of operations in LA who print and distribute windshield cards for their promotions.  Have them deliver your cards as well.  You might get a discount since they'll be there anyway! So, it's real work and involves a LOT of running around, that costs money in time and gasoline; the cards are not that expensive, especially when you print 4,000 to 10,000 at a time. What are they doing in other markets?  In Seattle there are two outfits who deliver.  You make a phone call, they show up at your door (actually you go out to the car when they call back) with a selection from which to choose, pay the guy, tip the driver, and he's gone into the night, or day.  The only one committing a crime is the driver, a felony actually, but if no one is going to prosecute, what the hey. What about your staff is professional?  Do you have a bud tender who is a pain specialist?  Get one!  Promote her presence there.  CRITICAL to your on-line efforts, as others have mentioned, get your Twitter and FB going, send out a Monthly eNEWSletter that you get when you "Like" or "Tweet" or subscribe on your website. Have everyone who comes into your store "Like" your FB page, gather every eMail you can for direct mail support on sales, get as many customers as possible, while they're IN the store, to write a YELP review. Your IN-STORE image is critical. Make it professional and spotless.  Young women seem to be popular as bud tenders but an old guy, over 55, who understands pain, is more valuable to your repeat business. Now, if you want someone to build you a first page website, you may contact me. It's a 2 year project to push a site up the Google ladder, sometimes it goes faster, but you have to have unique content, video, audio, etc. Think of your website as your own TV/Radio/Magazine.  Have it on the computers in your waiting room.  You won't see overnight results but boy will all this pay off in the long run. You're in it for the long run, right? Coo?
