How can I build a website with interactive videos on the front page?

I want to build a website that features videos on the front page similar the https://www.paypal.com/us/home and the http://www.powerhouse-company.com/ website where everything on the page is interactive and reacts upon the user clicking on the mouse. I'm not sure where to start and I have no idea about the languages needed to build such frontend pages. Thank you.
