How can I improve the content and language of my essay. What daily practices will help me in improving my English grammar?

A few tips. (1) For essays and articles, have one single, central argument (meaning a theory or point that you can support throughout your essay). Every element of your essay should contribute to supporting this argument - if you need to cut words, cut material that is 'nice to have' but without which your argument can still stand. (2) Ensure you have a beginning, middle and end-point. Another model for this is "Why - What - How - What Next", which means you start by describing the point of the essay or why the reader should be interested in your article/essay in the first place. Then you provide factual information that will support your argument. Then you show how this information can be used, or describe a train of logic that brings the reader naturally from the factual data you presented to the conclusion you are arguing for. Finally, the What Next phase concludes by looking to the future. You could outline the consequences of your argument, its applications by industry, what will happen next in the situation you have analysed, how your argument might be applied to different circumstances etc. (3) Don't use abbreviations or technical terms without defining them or spelling them out the first time you use them (what is IAS in this context?) (4) Never, ever take shortcuts with spelling or grammar. Even with shopping lists and texts! Every time you write or say something, you are reinforcing that usage in your subconscious mind, which is like a big, indexed database. Load it with junk and it will give you back junk. (5) For grammar, a long-term project is to understand the relationship between the subject, verb and object in an English sentence. Every sentence (or clause) contains a verb (doing word). The subject is the word (noun or pronoun) that represents the thing that is doing the action of the verb. The object (or objects) are receiving the action of the verb. In the sentence 'I threw the ball to Roger', 'I' is the subject, 'threw' (to throw) is the verb, and 'the ball' and 'Roger' are both objects. A standard English sentence/clause follows the sequence "subject - verb - object". This can take some work to master, but it is the key to a great many of the common areas of grammar most people have difficulty with in English. This includes passive and active voice, the difference between who and whom, the difference between I and me (e.g. "He went with you and me" or "he went with you and I"? The first is correct because 'me' is the object form of the noun, which receives the action of the verb 'went' and goes after the verb. In English, a good trick is to notice most object forms have an 'm' (me, him, them, whom) while the subjects do not (I, he, they, who)). Being aware of this area of grammar will help you to restructure over-complicated sentences very easily, just by looking for the verb, making sure the first noun is 'doing' the verb, and then putting the other nouns after the verb as objects.
