What is a facebook 'official' page?

Please give me suggestions for making the "employer" link in the NEW Facebook profile link to my official employer page, not Facebook's auto-generated "community" page

  • I have seen instructions that involved using the web dev plugin for Firefox and entering the official page employer ID (vs the community page ID) .. but this does not work for me -- I believe these guides were written prior to the new profiles styles becoming default.

  • Answer:

The Firefox instructions do work with the "new" profile design. I think the issue is that some folks who tried passing along these instructions simply overlooked a step here or there, or they just didn't write clearly enough.  I spelled everything out in great detail in a note on my business page here: http://www.facebook.com/TenMileSoftware?sk=notes#!/note.php?note_id=169472129761832   The first 2/3 of the note talks in detail about optimizing the profile, so if you don't need help with that, just skip down to the paragraph that starts with "OK - all of this is easy enough."  This is where the Firefox instructions begin.   If these instructions still don't work for you, feel free to contact me and I'll be glad to see if I can help you. (No charge, of course.)

Thank you Lynette. I am trying to follow your instructions step-by-step but i am not seeing what you are describing (exactly) and I cannot make it work. I'm heading over to your Facebook page to ask for direct help. Thanks for offering that.
