What exactly is mechatronics? What scope is there in this field?

If you see the things around you most of them are made up from the combination of Mechanical+Electronics, and the future will comprise of the combinations of different fields, a single field cant dominate. We are entering in a Digital world in which electronics is gonna play a vital role mainly in communication instruction and all other, but the actual work is gonna done by mechanical machines whoever controls them. So you can now realize how much important is the Mechatronics in the upcoming future for atleast for next 25 years till the time we develop the artificial intelligence.

Mechatronics is basically a computer-controlled mechanical system, including both an electronic computer and electromechanical components. It includes combination of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering, control engineering , computer engineering , informatics , automation , robotics. So these branches combined shows its future scope.  Future mechanical, electrical; computer and IT engineers will have to deal with Mechatronics. Research and development potential in Mechatronics includes areas such as space technology, especially in the wake of use of robots for space exploration.  Many consider robotics and Mechatronics as closely linked. The subject Robotics is available for higher study in M.Tech or ME. Level programmes. Therefore you can also obtain a BE/ B.Tech Degree in Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics Communication or Computer Engineering Branches. Later specialize in mechatronics/robotics in your post graduation for a better job prospects. But present situation is not much in favour of this branch . Companies are offering very few jobs in this field . Some of them even don't know about this branch . So please be wise in choosing this . Gud luck!!
