What are the search filters that Google and Other Search Engines uses to filter out spam and unwanted contents?

  • Google uses SafeSearch filter to filter out adult contents. But, I guess the most popular is Duplicate Content filter to filter out contents that are not original. Other than these 2 filters. are there any other search filters that Google uses? What about other search engines?

Actually, Google doesn't use duplicate content as a spam filter at this point. Duplicate content hurts you in the rankings because it hurts crawl efficiency. With the Panda update, the biggest filter is overall site 'quality'. If you have a lot of pages with very 'thin' content, or many pages that are near-identical, combined with other problems, that's going to collectively hurt you in the rankings. Again, though, this isn't a spam filter. It's a natural part of their algorithm. Their typical spam filters look for actual spam tactics: Cloaked content, hidden content, etc..
