How do you make the original Bloody Mary?

What are some good make-your-own Bloody Mary bars in San Francisco?

I'm in search of an epic bloody mary in the Bay Area. Would prefer a make-your-own bar for such an indulgence. Rockit in Chicago and East Coast Grille in Boston are models of how a make your own bloody mary bar should be, and the two places I've found in SF (Home and Elixir) have been major disappointments. Can anyone advise? Or at least point me to a spicy, strong and generally awesome bloody mary in the area?

Sunday mornings, Hobson's Choice on Haight St. hosts a bloody mary "buffet". Their house mix is great as is, but there is always room for improvement.
