How do you apply for google jobs?

How often do high school students get jobs or internships at Google?

• I understand that there are generally a lot of important aspects for a reviewer from (not just Google) any tech company to look at. I also know that the aspects of a high school student may not be so significant compared to that of a college student who is already majoring in CS. However, I was completely shocked to know that 14% of Google employees never even reached college. Because of this small piece of information, I just want to know the following: 1. What is it about these people that makes them stand out? What sort of extraordinary things have they usually done? 2. How would a high school student show that he or she is useful for Google (or any other tech company)?

  Never reaching college is not equivalent to interning as a high school student. The 14% figure is definitely much higher than the percentage of Googlers who have interned as a high school student: I interned for two years at Google in Mountain View and New York and never personally met a high school student intern (unless you count the CSSI program, which isn't exactly an internship), although I've heard they exist. As for how you would stand out as a high school student, you'd probably have to do something both impressive and public. Examples: Build an application that demonstrates great technical skill, host it publicly on GitHub, and associate yourself with it online (e.g. http://gabrielecirulli.github.io/2048/) to get publicity. Start a successful (or at least technically impressive) company or organization. Get involved in competitive programming etc.
