Does JavaScript performance on Windows machines differ from JavaScript performance on Macs?
-
I know there are browser differences in terms of performance, but are there operating system comparisons or is it purely a matter of hardware?
-
Answer:
JavaScript performance is almost completely derived from the JavaScript engine running in the browser, Spider/TraceMonkey vs. v8 vs. Nitro vs. JScript (or now, Chakra). Hardware will have a share in the performance as well. This question is more applicable in the mobile realm.
