How do I promote my newly made website (a CMS)?

  The first thing to say is put a little content together to describe what the website will be for, put it on the home page and 'launch' the website.  For ranking purposes, the age of a site is a factor and the clock only starts when the search engines find something launched - not when we buy the domain. The second thing is that there is little point bringing people to the site until there is some significant content.  But while you are building it, you should be planning the addition of your website details to things like business cards and  brochures.  I would also compile a list of all of the web registrations you have where the website URL will need to be added as soon as it does have enough content. Thinking ahead to gaining high ranking, it is crucial to carry out keyword research and competitor analysis before deciding the structure of your website.  One page per search phrase (keyword) or very closely nested set of keywords is best.  Write the content for humans and then tweak it to meet search engine optimisation (SEO) requirements.  And don't forget that the content of the title tag and description meta tag need to read well as well as help ranking. If you're launching a new domain, you will not gain high natural search ranking for months - except for your company name if that is distinctive.  The answer to how you should promote the site in the meantime, depends on your individual position in terms of networks, mailing lists your service/product, your competitors etc.  Internet advertising is definitely a possibility (search and display) but then so is social media / networking (twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, blogging, video sharing).  If your offering is sufficiently novel, you may be able to get some 'free' PR via local papers reporting your website launch as 'news' - if you have contacts.
