How much for one Company website in your area?

How should one define company maturity in a certain area?

  • Companies have to develop strategies for various areas like performance management, talent management, process optimization etc. - how would you define a global maturity scale for this vast range of areas? Whilst one company might have a lot of activities around talent management and still suffer from brain drain (for whatever other reason) another company might be doing virtually nothing but still not suffering from retention at all because they might simply be in a hot industry or city or something. Therefore, company B doing a lot less would appear to be more mature than company A because it is doing all that has to be done for successful talent management. Any ideas on a good scale, something like 'identified' - 'partially addressed' - 'addressed company-wide' - 'addressed and proved success'? Thanks!

  • Answer:

One approach, used by software engineering organizations, is a Capability Maturity Model, such as the one espoused by the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon: http://www.sei.cmu.edu/cmmi/ They describe 5 levels of maturity with various attributes and descriptors. You could do the same for your domains. http://www.sei.cmu.edu/reports/10tr033.pdf.
