What are some British universities that are friendly to an aspiring international student from the USA?

What universities in the USA accept a student for a master's in computer science, if the student did not study computer science at the undergraduate level?

  • I do not have a formal computer science degree but I have undertaken several computer science courses as electives. Along with that I have participated in onsite round ACM-ICPC, regular on competitive programming websites and did an intern at a start-up based in USA. (Algorithms programming in C and python).

  • Answer:

Most universities accept a change in stream at Masters level, if you can sufficiently demonstrate that you are capable of succeeding in that field through your research/extra curriculars (which, by the looks of it, you can). Also, most universities, if they admit you, would admit you to the same program as everyone else, but at University of Pennsylvania, there is a program (Master's in Computer and Information Technology, or MCIT) that is specifically designed for students with non CS bachelors. It roughly approximates the 4 year bachelors content into 2 years. http://www.cis.upenn.edu/grad/mcit/
