Is it possible to get a job in the data science field in India?

If you want to go into programming field of data science, learn python and R. If you want to go into data processing filed of data science, learn hadoop. As per my experience, the competition is very high. without experience, getting a data science related job is  "very very competitive" but you can get a job if you work hard a little bit. I suggest you learn Python or R and try to apply for startup companies.  If you are really serious about the field, you should be willing to join some company as an intern/entry level also. If you already did some projects, it would help you. Knowledge in "any of" statistics, machine learning, predictive analytics, data visualization, data analytics would help you in the interview process. If you are looking for courses: Coursera Udacity has plethora of them. If you are planning to start, learn python first and then start the courses. Hi,Getting a Data Science related job is quite an easy task, there's no rocket science involved.Data science is all about, Dealing with Different formats / structures of Data, Cleaning it, Organising it, making it ready to pass it into an Algorithm. The algorithm gives you an output, That output would generally be a Number , you need to have those mathematical skillset to understand the importance of that Number and to think about running the Algorithm again, or choosing another algorithm or even thinking  to change data.. You need develop the skills to interpret the numbers / data into Percentages, Ratios related them with the business, interpret the results generated by the Algorithm, Test them You need to visualize stuff alot, look the data in all possible figures, Circles, Rectangles, Curved lines, crooked lines, compare two figures, multiple figures, precisely Good Visualization skills. Coz, Visualization will give us clarity about how to plan our next move with the data we have. Story telling, remember a Comic book? Twinkle / chacha chowdary .. colorful images with narrations ?where picture tells about the scene, sometimes even if the letters are not printed properly, we'll kind of understand by looking at those Pics, similarly Visualization will help us to understand the data and how business is doing/problem instantly Lets imagine, you've 2GB RAM Laptop, You'r trying to open 150mb excel files, may be 6-7 files of them, once you opened 3files, you'll get to see the loading circle of Progress and it gets stuck, rite? They cannot process mutiple files may files of larger memory. you should also learn to How to handle larger files efficiently. In order to perform the above mentioned tasks, you need to have the below skills, Programming , preferably Python, R , read the below answer to know why? Hadoop , Spark for Handling Large Files efficiently Matrix Algebra to manipulate data and apply Data Operations. (remeber? how data is  stored in excel,csv ... matrix) Data summarization Techniques Data Visualization techniques (GGPLOT, R, D3, Seaborn, chartjs ..
