Cognitive science has, and can continue to help, solve issues that are directly measurable, like executive function. Neuroscience can work alongside this research to give a more physical reason for why the brain functions the way it does, but, correlation never equals causation, and these questions will likely not be answered for a loooong time unless we find some answer to consciousness itself.
