What is marketplace?

What are some recommended e-commerce software for a single marketplace that support multiple merchants (similar to Amazon Marketplace)?

  • There are several shopping store software packages that let a vendor set up their own store. I am interested in a marketplace where multiple merchants/vendors will be able to manage their own merchandise (catalog/inventory/pricing/fullfillment) but the end users would buy from the marketplace. For example,  a low end version of Amazon Market Place.

Here are many good e-commerce options for you but none of it will be phenomenal. All of them have the gaps. Some can be really helpful. Others can make nothing.               One of the finest and most popular e-commerce software is ShoppingCartElite. They are the world’s most sophisticated e-commerce platform that provides A-Z of e-commerce solutions. Some of the services that they offer are hosting, designing, marketing, content management, SEO, CRM, etc. They also control the complete end to end process of setting up an online business and automating everything in it. Moreover, they have a complete two-way synchronization between marketplaces allowing you to sell your products easily on eBay, Amazon, and dozens of other shopping channels with just a few clicks. Their expert staff is available 24x7 on chat to solve all your queries related to e-commerce.                Omni Channel Hub is e-commerce software that I would recommend, which supports multiple merchants. Their tools enable you to sell on various marketplaces like eBay, Amazon, Google Shopping, etc. with a few clicks of the mouse. It can help you in automatically listing, managing, and selling products on multiple sales channels.            Disclosure: I wrote the post.

is what I would use. We at Spark Solutions (http://sparksolutions.co/) have just finished what I think is the biggest RoR & implementation in the world - a multi-merchant B2C with 3 million products from 50+ merchants, one checkout, one , multiple integrations and of course. Here's a list of pros: clean and simple responsive interface for users and store owners a great deal of open source extensions easy customization of design and business logic compared to other e-commerce solutions like , primarily thanks to serving as the base of Spree well suited for small, medium and large inventories (it scales really well, we had a client with over 3 000 000 SKUs) mature and well tested hundreds of open source developers working on Spree compared to a handful of people developing other platforms great code quality (thanks to the previous point) You can count on our (http://sparksolutions.co/) expert advice in that area.

There are many different platforms in shopping cart scene. Every of which has its own pros and cons. I researched many platforms, and I can say that old ones like Volusion, Magento, Bigcommerce are most popular but now they decrease of course, and there are platforms, which are quite new and developing every time. Of course, it depends on what do you mean by unsuccessful. The success of platforms now depends on the quality/price correlation. Magento is great; it has high security, good service, large extension's number but it heavy and complicated, and it is not good for the beginner to discover ecommerce. Magento is a good platform for your business only if you have the development resources.Volusion simplifies back-end codes and makes site administration very easy. It is known for its one-page checkout format. But it has its disadvantages, for example, developers can be expensive, hosting costs are higher and longer length of time to install. You should have a look at ShoppingCart`Elite, it’s an easily scalable and powerful platform. You can customize it to your business’s needs, and they have excellent marketplace integration for selling on eBay or others. Their platform offers Enterprise features at reasonable prices. They also have tons of free templates, but the only thing is you won’t be able to see them until you sign up. Regardless, I think they would better suit your needs.

Here are some good e-commerce options for you, for example, Sellbrite and Omni Channel Hub.Sellbrite is quite powerful e-commerce software, but the Ebay listing function is a bit more complicated to use. You need to go through multiple windows to choose options to complete your listings. Furthermore, it has a different approach to the marketplaces so it takes a while to "get it."Another option worth considering is Omni Channel Hub https://www.omnichannelhub.com/ if you’d like to sell on multiple marketplaces. It’s a hosted platform with cost-effective pricing for startups or established businesses. Their system actually focuses on businesses that sell on many marketplaces, so they’ve worked it out for sellers to automate most of their operations. You can list, sync, update, download orders/inventory with just a few clicks. It’s highly customizable, however, it will take a little time to set up. Can’t expect through customization to be the same for everyone. I found it intuitive to set up and use, and it has all the key features you'd expect from an Enterprise solution.Disclosure: I am the e-commerce specialist, and I wrote the post.
