What are the main differences between a class 10 SD DSLR memory card and a lower class SD card?
-
Would like to know how important it is to use a class 10 SD card when shooting video or RAW photos with a DSLR camera?
-
Answer:
The class of a memory card can be inferred as how fast the images are written to the SD card. Say, writing images to a class 4 memory card will be much slower than to a class 10 memory card. While shooting video, it is always better to have a memory card which has a high class number, but while shooting RAW, it should not matter much. It will matter if your camera has a high burst rate and provided you are shooting in burst mode.
