How do computers work?

Where can I find a book on how computers work?

  • Ok, so I know this is maybe a frequently asked question but I'm deeply fascinated by computers. While I have decided to pursue coding ( starting with Python) recently, I thought why not learn how computers work. So please if anyone can suggest me a book which explains this in some detail. If the book can also explain how modern apps and and things work too, that'll be appreciable.(I'll probably get it off Amazon if it's there).

Disclaimer : I am not a Computer Science and Engineering student , although I have taken courses related to computer hardware ( which I assume you wish to know more about ). I think one beginner friendly book on computer organization I have encountered is Computer Organization and Architecture by William Stallings. I think you can find all the information you need without going into intricate details. You should be able to get this easily on Amazon. Although the book has a primer on Boolean algebra and digital circuits , you might want to try reading more about them in Fundamentals of Logic Design by Charles H. Roth. Hope this helps ! Have fun :)
