Vision improvement exercises?

Is it possible to get back my vision naturally with the help of eye exercises?

  • I recently had an eye check up and it turned out that I have a normal astigmatism. I am wearing glasses for the first time and I really wish to get back my vision to normal with the help of exercises like this: I also read about an app called ULTIMEYES: http://www.geekswipe.net/2014/02/ultimeye-an-app-that-fixes-the-aging-eyesight-could-provide-a-superhuman-eyesight-too/ and I am currently using it for about a month. I feel better in reading now. My questions are: 1. Is it naturally possible to bring back my eyesight? 2. Does the exercises help me in treating astigmatism? 3. Is there any other way/excercises? 4. Is there any chance (1 to 5 %) that wearing glasses might help me fix astigmatism? I really don't want to wear glasses, contacts or undergo LASIK. Please help me figuring this out.

  • Answer:

The glasses will help. I haven't heard of any exercises that heal astigmatism. Use toric lenses ( soft and not the rigid one ) Anyways any kind of exercise is always good for the body ! LASIK would totally eradicate the problem. But if you don't want to do it. That's fine. Lenses and glasses should help you.

Some people are able to improve their vision through http://www.the15minutefix.com/vision-eye-exercises.html (disclaimer: I believe they are beneficial at many levels and have written a book on how to exercise the eyes). With astigmatism in particular though, you need to understand the limitations.  Astigmatism is caused by an eye that is not completely round and eye exercises are unlikely to change that. Glasses and surgery are the only two reliable treatments. That having been said, you can still use eye exercises to train your brain to better interpret the information the eyes are sending it. This may improve your vision despite not correcting the astigmatism. Eye exercises can also help you reduce eyestrain, alleviate stress, sharpen cognitive function, and boost energy levels.

Yes. I work with computers a lot and I wear glasses since my third grade. I did some of the exercises. I had a positive experience. Not that spectacular -because I was not committed-  but my eyes are more relaxed. I no longer wear them when I drive in daylight time. Now, medical professionals tend to argue that the method is not scientific. But hey, it is safe and works on a lot of people. On the opposite side, the scientifically-proven Lasik has led to many disasters. Anyway, I encourage you to check this blog as a starter. It contains cool articles and helpful cheap vision improvement products, especially for people who work a lot on digital devices such as computers: http://EyeExercisesforComputerUsers.com
