How do you feel about being asked to code during an interview?

Is there any chance that a Google recruiter will get back to you after a couple of months if you failed in their interview rounds but you thought you did quite well in them?

  • My explanation as this question was marked as needing clarification !! I was selected for the interview rounds with Google for the Account Strategist role . And I attended the SQL written test . A week later , I got an Interview call, I mean face to face , so i attended for the interview with one of the Managers in the Ad team , He asked me couple of questions and I answered them pretty well I suppose which I wont like to disclose here . After Interview was done I was just sitting calmly while we were waiting for my recruiter to come up from the downstairs . So meanwhile, I asked him couple of casual questions, like ...Now that Vic is gone, who is heading the Google+ team, he did not know that, then I asked him about Google I/O.. My recruiter came up and told me , I feel like there is a mismatch , then I was thinking inside, if I was really a mismatch, why I was called for the SQL written test, why you have sent me the Interview invitation as well after 1 week , because I thought my interview wasn't a disaster? but I remained calm although I was deeply frustrated inside...I just said "okay" , and then he was asking me "What's your feeling about the interview ?", I said I did pretty well , because I was confident the way I spoke && gave answers , atleast I'm sure I dint talk any bullshits or unnecessary stuffs, anyway later on he said *we are done for the day* and he would get back to me with his feedbeck...so I believe I was rejected already :)) Now that's where my question comes up .

  • Answer:

Follow up. You are already half way done my friend. Wait for 3 months. After 3 months, follow up with recruiter. Ask him/her whether you'll be considered again or should you check again after 6 months. Normally, cooling period of companies like Google is of 1 year but if you think that you did good then they may consider you after 6 months. You'll never know the answer without asking.
