How to remove a link border?

How do I remove the white border around a gif image?

  • I have created a GIF image using Illustrator. The Matte option is set to 'None'. I cannot see any white border when I am saving the image. But when I use it in my HTML code (style: padding and margin set to 0) I see a white border. I am using this image for the header of my website and the white border looks ugly.

  • Answer:

You're going to have to set the matte color to the color you're putting the gif on (if it's on a black background, set the matte to black). I haven't tried it with Illustrator but that's how it works in Photoshop.

Save as a .png-24 for perfect alpha transparency if you can!

I hope this helps: http://www.mediacollege.com/adobe/photoshop/transparent/matte.html You just need to set the "matte" option to your preferred color to blend in with the background overlay.
