How hard is it to become a finance professor?

• My girlfriend is graduating from college this year with a masters degree in financial engineering and risk management, but she doesn't like any of the job offers she has. She's considering getting a PhD and becoming a professor instead. How difficult is it to get a professor position with a PhD in finance? Does anyone have first-hand experience with this? If Your girlfriend is getting her degree at one of the top 20 finance schools in the country she should have no problem finding a job teaching when she graduates, unlike PhD students in many other professions.
