How do I go about extracting PDF text, images, and vector line drawings?
-
I'd like to make a web application that enables you to search for exam questions based on keywords and display them. I've tried to deconstruct pdf.js but it's too complicated for me, and i've tried tools like automator for mac but it doesn't extract the vector drawings. Ideally I'd be able to extract them into SVGs so I could have the text along with the SVG drawings

If I read correctly. You are doing more work than what needs to be done. Upload the pdf files, attach keywords to it and go with it. Maybe let users add keywords to it as well ? Why do you need the SVG (or eps or ai or whatever). How would I search for that?
