How to import Rhythmbox podcasts into Banshee?

Is there a way to export podcasts from iTunes / iPad Music App to, say, MP3 format, and then import them into another Podcast app, say, Downcast?

  • The Apple iPad Music App is abysmally bad, and after testing several alternatives I have selected Downcast for Podcasts, and Groove for Music.  I have a large collection of "No longer available" Podcasts in iTunes - I would love to get them into Downcast, but how?

    I suspect it is bad form to answer one's own question - but I have progressed since asking ... The first part - exporting from iTunes to MP3 is mind-numbingly simple.  On Windows, right click on the Podcast item and select copy. Then, on your desktop, or in your Dropbox folder right click and paste.  (Blush). Now - the hard part - getting the MP3 into Downcast.   Fortunately one can ask the developers directly on their Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/DowncastApp?sk=wall and they do seem to be very responsive.
