What is the fare for Canada Line?

How much is bus fare for the AC Transit M line when using a Clipper Card?

• The AC Transit site says that people can ride it locally and local fare is $2.10. But, the M line is also a transbay bus and fare for transbay buses is $4.20. So, if I were to use a Clipper card, which fare would I be charged?

  If you get on a local/transbay bus (NL, M, etc.), the driver often asks whether you are traveling local or transbay. The driver will flip the switch to charge the appropriate fee. I've seen the driver not proceed (at the last local stop) and ask people to pay the additional fee if they did not. AC Transit drivers have little compunction to publicly shame you. The fee is $4.20.
