What engineering jobs are available in the USA?

I am from a top institute in India studying B.Tech in mechanical engineering. I wish to pursue an M.S. from the USA and an MBA from India. Is this a viable option and what kind of jobs can I be sure of?

  • Answer:

Thanks for A2A, Well, if ultimately you want to get into managerial stuff, better skip the MS in between. Because, as per your plan, after you do your MBA and get into a financial position (suppose), your MS would hardly matter, even though it's from US. And what is the use of your fancy MS degree, for which you burnt a big hole in your pocket, if ultimately it doesn't matter? I'd say, go for an MBA in the US. Work for a few years in a good core company, save up some money, nail the GMAT, apply to top US B-Schools, get into one of those and that's it. All the best :)

Yes, both are viable option. But will end you up in completely different job domain. MS is technical and you will end up into research field. MBA on other hand is will end you up in more kind of managerial domain. But as you want to do both MS as well as MBA then its a bit of waste. Because in this case there is no point of doing MS then.

This is not an viable option. As others have said first decide your direction whether towards managering or technical line and then think of further prospects
