Is it illegal to use a proxy to download Call of Duty online, in the U.S?

The game is free to play, but it is only available In China currently and I was wondering if it is actually illegal to use a proxy/vpn to download and play the game here in the U.S.A?

It's technically illegal regardless of whether you use a proxy or not, it's copyrighted material and can only be legally purchased from an authorized retailer ... But this morning when I checked The Pirate Bay for a movie, there were 64 million people logged in, so I wouldn't sweat it too much ;)

I think it will be ok, because call of duty online is a free to play game, that means you can download freely However, the server is in a Chinese internet company called Tencent, so the lag will be so huge. of course, it is a f2p game, but quite a lot of lethal and tatical equipments, weapon skin(I don't know whether you can understand what I mean) can only be bought permantntly by money. so if you want to "enjoy" in this game, you still need to pay, but that's how f2p works.
