How To Learn Coding?

How much coding would I need to learn to edit an existing HTML page?

  • We have an HTML email template developed by out wed designer. They have since departed and I think I can edit the code to use in ebay listings descriptions. How difficult would the coding I need to learn be? To simply edit format; change images and add links?

  • Answer:

I'm not sure what you mean by the template. There are HTML templating engines or markdown that are refered to as templates that isn't as straight forward. Core HTML isn't hard to learn but if it's coming from email then you probably need to be aware of inline css too. None of this is too hard and it's probably the easiest entry into "development" a non-techy could get. What you need could be a little clearer, if you get stuck feel free to message me especially if your content isn't too sensitive from a business perspective you could send it to me and I could help. For now I suggest you try out this tutorial: https://dash.generalassemb.ly It's probably the best and easiest way to get up and running

You don't need to learn HTML OR CSS. Just have an idea how HTML tags work and also attributes related to tags. Try to understand the coding of your template and use Internet. For reading purposes http://w3schools.com would be helpful.
