What are personal development business opportunities about?

What are the exit opportunities out of Palantir's Business Development group? Are the skill sets gained applicable to other industries?

    Three people from my alma mater left seemingly airtight positions at top tier PE firms (Blackstone, KKR, and TPG; this information is in the public domain) to join Palantir BD. If it had been just a single person, I would have assumed it was a fluke or that (s)he was fired. As it stands, I have to assume that all three of these individuals made very calculated decisions to jump from finance to Palantir, giving up highly lucrative career trajectories in the process.

The question really depends on what you want your next job after Planatir BD to be. Since they are focused on security, intelligence and government contracts I would assume you could use it to go into any of those fields (or those that see opportunities in those fields). All that being said, I think that BD people are able to move into different industries easier than other roles since they are more general system thinkers than not.
