How does Google automatically measure user satisfaction with search results?

• It's been noted that Google is constantly performing hundreds of tests for various signals on random users to see if a change would improve their search results. What measurement is used to benchmark whether or not a given user is happy with the results they're given? Is it simply a question of if the user follows up a click on a result with a reworded query? Is it based on bounce rate/speed? Do they tap into Google Analytics data to see if the user drills down deeper on the site they're given?

Also, if website is using Adsense then Google can accurately estimate the Page Views and relevance using data from combined from Analytics & Adsense.
