How do I find the easiest WordPress themes to manage and customize?

  • Over the past 3 years, I bought lots of WordPress themes from ThemeForest, also used some themes that are built with some very famous frameworks like Genesis & HEADWAY. I have noticed that 95% of the well reputed WP themes are getting very complicated to setup, customize or manage compared to the native WordPress themes that are a whole way easier. Can anyone suggest a professional theme that is was built with "huge" attention to User Experience out of the box with setup, customize or manage a theme?

    As a simple and to the point theme, ' Canvas has a pretty good reputation. The yearly WordPress themes would also be a good place to start. Ignore the design, you're only gone to tear that down and trick it out any way. Go for basic, as basic as possible. The majority of anything extra should be done via plugins.

I too have had this experience and it has been incredibly frustrating. Themes that look great and are marketed as 'easy to set up' end up being a total nightmare to use. Unfortunately the only way to ascertain what your experience will be is to look at the comments section. If you see loads of people complaining or asking questions to do basic stuff then you know it's a theme that requires a stronger grasp of code. Another tip I'd give you is to pay by using Paypal. If you buy something on Themeforest that isnt as advertised (i.e. 'easy to use') request a refund.

I used to design websites and came across http://crocoblock.com, a WordPress theme club. Their themes were easy to customize and really nice-looking, though at first I got confused - they all were based on CherryFramework which I hadn't installed before and thus got the installation problems. However, after having installed it everything went well. Hope my experience helps you somehow.
