Why does the Games section on Facebook no longer show games your friends play?

    There is a long standing conflict between Facebook and Zynga over control of the site. A lot of people use Facebook just to play Zynga games, but also spam the site. Facebook likes to show Zynga who is boss from time to time. In the long run facebook is trying to earn money: it figures that it has a lot of data on people it can sell to advertisers, so wants to make room for more ads. Facebook is the first site a lot of people use and it is hoping to control what people do from there, much in the same way Microsoft has an anti-virus that identifies other companies code as hostile. Facebook doesn't make much money from the games plus they take users away from the site.

I can see the games my friends play on this URL: http://www.facebook.com/?sk=games It's on the bottom half of the page, under the heading: "Friends' Games". That URL is linked to as "Games" on the left column of many Facebook pages. Now, what I don't see on that page, is a directory of games.
