How do I make notes on Current Affairs for Civil Services Examination 2015? In what subjects should I segregate my Notes?

1. Understand the syllabus( mug up) and link the news in your mind in the first few months. 2. Read TheHindu and Indianexpress ( you don't get much time afterwards, get used to it before) 3.Start making notes from December rather than from now. 4. Follow any current affairs magazine ( gktoday or vision IAS). This will suffice for first few months and will also cover exhaustively for december mains 2014. So, dont waste your time in making notes. Focus on your optional and GS books than current affairs. (Read Vajiram IR booklet for 2014. This will help you in understanding recent IR topics. Dont waste your time reading extra books for IR till december. Prefer IDSA) 5. While making notes, you can stick to any method. a. Make notes in a single book and revise every month b. make notes topic wise in different books. ( or onenote) (I follow the 1st method) How to make Notes? 1. UPSC asks issues for mains and facts in prelims 2.For mains, make list of topics in a page daily while reading your news paper. (and) a. If you write in a book, leave 3,4 pages aside for important topics each and make notes  ;questioning yourself - what, why, where, how and the most important part is make notes as if you are writing an answer. b. Maximum time is 2hrs ( or else stick to only TheHindu and follow VisionIAS current affairs) 3. For  Prelims, Topics to focus on facts - Economics, S&T 4. If you are in Delhi, collect prelims testseries for various coaching institutes. Its more than enough to cover current affairs part for prelims. 5. Focus on how to write an answer while making notes for mains and answering factual questions like definitions and objectives of schemes for prelims. To Read: 1.
