How does an Indian B.Tech graduate in Aerospace Engineering get a job on an oil rig/the offshore industry?
-
I'm 23 years old and am fluent in English and Russian. Is it true that you work 1 month on and 1 month off, and the pay is petty decent, with a lot of opportunities to grow if you're willing to learn? What are the courses I would have to know? What type of training will I need to undergo, and where would you recommend I take them? Where and how would I apply for such a job?

Answer:
Yes you can get in off-shore industry, but not certainly with just B.Tech. Have master or good experience in structure or fluids or powerplants or fluid then you get better chance to get in offshore. Get professional/chartered statue that would help you much. Note: I am Aero-guy i have strat-up in off-shore & hydraulics system. Even i seen enough bunch of people from aerospace field around the world as they more precious that other mechanical engineers.
