Do you think that there will be a net loss in the relative caliber of quality of reading as books switch to the digital e-book format? Lesser titles get forgotten.

Answer:
If you are asking as a whole from the 80s and earlier to today, then yes. As a whole, the e-book format is saving books. The method in which the material is delivered is almost identical to paper (referring to e-paper like the kindle). So long as they keep utilizing kindle type technology everything is good. If they ever try to replace e-paper entirely with tablets, we are all screwed.
