Any suggestions for trip around Europe.

I'm planning a two week trip to Europe, starting in Barcelona-need suggestions on other cities to visit?

  • I've never been to Europe and want to have a great trip.  Thinking Paris and Rome...anything else I should include?

    I really think that with those three you have enough to occupy you for a fortnight. Even then, don't expect to see everything they have to offer.

Try Strasbourg, surprisingly nice city, great transport, compact and have a great sense of the Gothic about.  This is very much a Franco/German city which is reflected in the cusine.

In Spain: Madrid, Sevilla, Valencia, Bilbao, San Sebastian. In Italy: Florence, Venice, Milan In France: Avignon, Rouen, Caen Also, don't forget that the region has a lot more than just cities, stopping in a nice village between any of these cities you should expect to find great food and nice people.

Are you planning to travel by train? Plane? Car Rental? It makes a difference but for two weeks, I would stick to Spain and Portugal. You can very nicely travel around by train or car rental and visit the beautiful cities, villages, countryside and shores along the way. We did a driving trip from Barcelona all the way around the coasts of Spain and Portugal and had the best time in the world.
