What are the common usage of python programming language?

Should I learn another programming language or should I master Python?

  • Python is my first programming language. I hadn't programmed in any other language before I started in Python. I wouldn't consider myself to be really good at this stuff, but I would say I've gotten quite better since I started. I'm wondering wether I should learn a different language like Java or master Python. What are your thoughts on this? Should I stick with Python and try to build something cool with it or start learning a new language like Java?

    I would say master python, then move on. The benefit of mastering a language before moving on is that you you know one language well, and where you are now mastery of one language seems like a good idea. Later on you should take a look at a functional language, as that will force you to try to solve the same problems in a completely different way. As others have stated, languages are just tools to solve problems with, but if you don't know how to solve a very difficult problem with one language, then learning another seems a bit premature.

I would definitely master Python, you may regret it if you don't and have to come back to it years from now. (I speak from experience)  It has a high power to ease-of-use ratio and it comes up in almost every field involving computers, from animation and vfx to medicine and aviation.

Language is a tool to solve problem, every one has its own advantage area and every one has its unique philosophy of dealing with problem, then familiar with more language will be a great help

I would recommend learning JAVA or C++. It doesn't matter if you know anyother lang.,but these two are must. I also want to suggest C but I am guessing from your interest C is not an good option for you. Acc to me every programmer or developer must know above languages. They must know OOPs concept very well.
