What are the pros and cons of various designer shoe brands?

• This is a follow-up question to . I hear a lot of brand names (er, like in Sex In The City) but again, as a dude I have no experience with them (it's not like they make separate men's lines for us) so what's the skinny on each of them?

  Cole Haan Pros: COMFY - as a wholly owned subsidiary of Nike, most CH shoes have Nike Air insoles. PRICE - Relatively inexpensive. From $120 for a simple women's flat to $380 for a tall boot. From $120 for simple canvas to $550 for complex leather mens shoes. QUALITY - I wear almost exclusively Cole Haan shoes because they are made well and last a long time. AVAILABILITY - They have 80 stores and are available in many major department stores. Cons: INCONSISTENT WIDTHS: I (and my clients) find that some models fit and some are too narrow. It's easier to determine which are narrow and which are wide by visiting the website. LIMITED SIZING: Though Cole Haan goes from size women's 4 to size 12, special sizes are limited to a narrow selection of items.
