Saves a lot on roaming charges A light raincoat - Even in the summer it rains a lot in europe, a packable one works just fine. A complete europe guide book - like 'Let's go europe'. Handy for the times when you cannot get online.

The standard answer to that is "half the clothes and twice the money."  For me, I do every trip with just carry-on bags.  Last fall, I did a 3 week around-the-world trip that way.  If the bag is with you, it's probably not going to get lost.  At least that's my theory.
