What is wrong with local marketing?

What would be the most appropriate marketing strategy when launching a new marketplace for local services. How would one address the chicken and egg problem, if the site has 2 types of customers, the local service professional and the user?

  • Should you launch the site in beta, and direct your marketing efforts towards local service professionals or instead have a splash page where both customers can register. Which technique would work
