How do I receive email notifications whenever I am tagged in a post or comment on Facebook?

  • The email notifications section of settings only lists the ability to receive notifications for tags in photos and videos or when someone comments after you on a post. I'm referring to getting an email notification when someone tags me in a post that is not a video or photo (for example, a post in a group or a status). Thanks to and for providing answers before I edited the details (sorry for not clarifying!).

    Go to https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=notifications&section=through_email&view and select the specific notifications you would like to receive through email. I believe the specific ones you are looking for are "Posts you're tagged with" and "Comments on posts you're tagged in", though I might be slightly wrong.
